WTA Jiangxi Day 3 predictions, including Siegemund vs Korpatsch

The first four second round games of the WTA Jiangxi take place on Wednesday. Number 1 seed Marie Bouzkova and former French Open quarterfinalist Laura Siegemund are among the players in action. We at LWOT predict all the action in this article, but which players do you think will reach the quarterfinals?

WTA Jiangxi Day 3 Predictions

Kamilla Rakhimova vs. Elena Pridankina

Head-to-head: First meeting

Rakhimova’s three-set win over Petra Martic was a tight and high-class affair. Pridankina defeated Ella Seidel in straight sets, but didn’t need to play particularly well to win this match. There will likely be a lot of long rallies in this competition. Overall, Rakhimova is more likely to be stable when it matters most.
Prediction: Rakhimova in 3

Saisai Zheng vs. Mananchaya Sawangkaew

Head-to-head: First meeting

Zheng’s win over Jana Fett in the final round was her first singles win since returning from a two-year hiatus and ended a long losing streak. However, things won’t get any easier against Sawangkaew. The 22-year-old is currently playing great tennis. She defeated Lucia Bronzetti in her last match, and that level would almost certainly be enough in this match.
Prediction: Sawangkaew in 2

Marie Bouzkova vs. Xinxin Yao

Head-to-head: First meeting

Yao took full advantage of being a lucky loser by beating Fangzhou Liu, the player she lost to in qualifying. Although the home player impressed in the opening round, No. 1 seed Bouzkova is a steep step up in quality. This year’s runner-up at the Citi DC Open will be too solid for Yao when she is at her best.
Prediction: Bouzkova in 2nd

Laura Siegemund against Tamara Korpatsch

Head-to-head race: Siegemund – Korpatsch 2-0

Siegemund’s straight-sets win over No. 3 seed Moyuka Uchijima was closer than the result suggested, but the German was more decisive in the important moments. Her compatriot Korpatsch only lost one game in the first round. Expect a lot of variety in this match between these two, which should make for an entertaining contest. Overall, it is somewhat more likely that Siegemund will implement this style more successfully.
Prediction: Siegemund in 3
