Wallabies Shatter Wales in Thrilling Victory, Eyeing Grand Slam Glory!

Wallabies Dominate Wales 52-20, Push for Grand Slam Glory

The Wallabies delivered a stunning 52-20 victory over Wales, handing the Welsh their 11th straight Test loss. The win, at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium, puts Australia on the brink of completing a historic Grand Slam during their British Isles tour.

Queensland hooker Matt Faessler scored a hat-trick of tries, while fullback Tom Wright also bagged three, earning him Player of the Match honors. Lock Nick Frost and centre Len Ikitau also crossed the try line as the Wallabies ran riot with eight tries in total. Noah Lolesio added six conversions to seal the dominant win.

Despite playing with 14 men for 20 minutes after Samu Kerevi’s yellow card, Australia continued their attacking onslaught, scoring three tries while a man down. Welsh fans began leaving early as their team struggled to cope with the Wallabies’ relentless pressure.

Even without star Joseph Suaalii, who played just 17 minutes, Australia remained in control, with Rob Valetini’s powerful performance in the back row further solidifying their dominance.

Australia’s coach Joe Schmidt celebrated the victory, especially against Welsh coach Warren Gatland, whose future now seems uncertain after yet another heavy loss. The Wallabies, fresh off a win against England, are closing in on a Grand Slam, hoping to match the achievements of the legendary 1984 team.

Australia made eight changes to their lineup, and it didn’t take long to assert their dominance. Tom Wright opened the scoring in the 13th minute, followed by Nick Frost and Matt Faessler’s tries. Wales briefly threatened when Aaron Wainwright scored, but the Wallabies led 19-13 at halftime.

In the second half, Faessler added another try, making history as the first Australian hooker to score a hat-trick. Wright intercepted a pass and scored while the Wallabies were down a man, and Ikitau’s dazzling run set up Wright for his third try.

With the Grand Slam now within reach, the Wallabies are determined to finish their tour on a high.
