Saturday September 13, 2025 – Australia vs Argentina (Sydney Football Stadium, Sydney)

Australia will host Argentina for two matches in the Rugby Championship 2025, with both games scheduled for September on the east coast, as confirmed by Rugby Australia. These encounters are part of the Wallabies’ three home fixtures for the tournament, with the third match against New Zealand set to take place in Perth on October 4, 2025.

In total, the Wallabies will play six home test matches in 2025. The first three will feature the British & Irish Lions, with matches on July 19, July 26, and August 2 at Lang Park in Brisbane, the Melbourne Cricket Ground, and Stadium Australia in Sydney, respectively.

For the Rugby Championship 2025, Australia will compete in home-and-away matches against New Zealand, a home match against Argentina, and an away game against South Africa. The tournament will kick off in North Queensland on September 6, at North Queensland Stadium in Townsville, which previously hosted the Wallabies against the Pumas in 2021.

Following the Townsville match, the Wallabies and Los Pumas will head to Sydney for their second test on September 13, to be held at the Sydney Football Stadium. This venue is a regular host for test match rugby, but the last time the Wallabies faced Argentina there was in 1995, when they won 30-13.

Since then, matches between the two teams in Sydney have been held at different locations. Australia hosted the opening match of the Rugby World Cup 2003 between Australia and Argentina, while Western Sydney Stadium was the site for their encounters in 2020 and 2023.

In 1995, besides their match against the Wallabies at the Sydney Football Stadium, Los Pumas also played there during the Rugby World Cup 2003, securing a 50-3 victory over Romania with Juan Martín Hernández scoring twice.
